Mahogany corner cupboard
This is a rather smart mahogany corner cupboard in the style of the early 19th century.
It would appear this piece has been constructed in more recent times, at least in part reusing 19th century parts. The doors are clearly old, on close inspection revealing signs of older fittings and with evidently wavy glass. There are also some thick and apparently old veneers used on this piece.
It is quite possible that all these parts began life as a part of a larger piece of furniture, which was then recycled with the addition of some new material, perhaps after being damaged, into the corner cupboard that is here today.
Whatever its exact origins, this is a smart and well-constructed piece, even if not truly antique.
